You can see a photo of the Data Discman at When I worked at Hoover’s Business Press in the early 90’s, we produced a book for the Data Discman, but the device never caught on with consumers. It took another 17 years for Amazon to invent the Kindle, and now Sony’s current product, Sony Reader, has only a tiny market share.
