While I’ve worked with most of my authors for several years now, I love reading interviews with them since I always end up learning even more about them. Here’s a Happy Spring to Darlene Foster, one of our few children’s writers.
Darlene Foster is an author who brings the wonders of the world into the lives of children who might not have the opportunity to travel themselves. Even travelling within a country as large as Canada might not be possible, but with the magic of words and images a child can enjoy Alberta or travel further afield to England, Spain and even Arabia.
The books feature Amanda Rosswho is a 12 year old Canadian girl who decides that the only way out of her boring existence is to travel outside the country. She makes a wish on her twelfth birthday for a chance to travel and gets an airline ticket to the United Arab Emirates to visit her Aunt the next day.
